Only one employee will be retained in every ABS-CBN regional stations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
According to ABS-CBN Supervisors’ Union President Raul de Asis, the remaining staff will serve as caretaker of the facility and network equipment.
Jon Villanueva, the president of the ABS-CBN Rank and File Employees’ Union said that 239 of their members lost their jobs and 100 of them were from ABS-CBN’s Regional Network Group (RNG).
He said the management assured that it is a priority for the company to take them back in case ABS-CBN returns.
The operation of the network was severely affected due to the denial of its franchise on July 10, 2020.
Due to Congress’ “killing” of the ABS-CBN Corporation franchise, the broadcast giant has not returned to free-to-air television.
The network’s revenue was affected which prompted the management to reduce the number of personnel so that they can continue the operation even on a limited basis.

Among those who lost their jobs are some of the big personalities of the network such as Ces Drilon, Bernadette Sembrano, and Korina Sanchez.
On the radio arm of the network, Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja left DZMM and have moved to DZRH.
August 28 marked as the last day of the employees of the 12 Regional stations of Kapamilya Network.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the ABS-CBN management is set to meet with employees to present assistance and programs for the fired personnel.

The damage of shutting down the Network has very far-reaching effect. People especially employees and talents who are dependent solely for their income make hard for them to find substitute sources to bring food to the table. No other persons can be traced the cause of the problem but the owners in cooperation of decision-maker employees in order to defraud the government for many years of their operations. They are all aware of it from the term of their franchise, sometimes will end. It is always wise to do good of everything one is doing, its worth as a matter of sacrifice in obeying laws and constitution. It cannot be undone by mere ingenuity to evade and publicly declare they have done nothing wrong as the truth shall catch up and overtake them. Bad faith intent at its inception caused the problem and sufferings of all people who are greatly affected.
