What is two-factor authentication?

Facebook’s two-factor authentication was a security feature that could help protect your account in addition to your current password.

If you already set up two-factor authentication, you will be asked to enter a “special login code” or “confirm your login attempt” every time you or someone tried to access your Facebook account from a mobile device or a browser that Facebook didn’t recognize.

You could also get alerts whenever you or someone tried to log in to your account from a mobile device or browser that Facebook didn’t recognize.
