Netizens React to a Box of ‘PEPERO’ in Pasig City Food Pack

Netizens couldn’t help but react after seeing a box of Pepero in the “ayuda” or food pack to aid the areas under localized ECQ in Pasig City.

The citizens of the net were mixed reactions while praising Mayor Vico Sotto for including a box of Pepero in their food pack.

A netizen @iradmnhn was among the first who took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she shared a snap of the food pack she received.

As of posting, the tweet has already earned more than 2,800 retweets and numerous comments from the netizens.

Vico Sotto, the mayor of Pasig City himself shared the tweet with the caption: “Para di na po kayo lumabas!!! Kung sumunod tayong lahat mas mabilis din po matatapos ang Localized ECQ sa inyo. Ingat po at God bless!.”

Aside from the usual food supplies such as rice, instant noodles, and canned goods, residents under localized ECQ were able to receive several pieces of cloth masks, all-in-one food seasoning, three-in-one coffee, a week supply of shampoo and soap and a bag of tuyo (dried fish).

Meanwhile, Several areas in Pasig were placed under localized enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the upsurge of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

In an announcement, residents of the said areas are only allowed to leave their residence for work and in case of emergency.

As of July 20, Pasig has already recorded 1,327 COVID-19 cases and out of that number, 553 are active.
