Miguel was named the fifth placer in Idol Philippines, while Zephanie Dimaranan was the grand winner.
In his long Instagram post, Miguel has titled it “MY COMING OUT STORY.”
According to the singer, he didn’t have to admit it because “my mom just knew.”
Based on the article of PEP.ph, from the beginning, he talked to the producers of Idol Philippines not to focus on his gayness.
But Miguel Odron clarifies, “To be clear, I’ve never been ashamed of being gay.”
Miguel is very grateful to Star Music for understanding his revelation.
He said, “I made that choice on Idol not because I wanted to present a fake version of myself to all of you, but because I wanted your focus to be on my voice, my music and my writing.”
When he was only 13, Miguel Odron, along with his mother and brother, flew to Indiana, U.S.A., and lived there.
In 2009, he returned to the Philippines and joined Idol Philippines, seeking to be recognized as a singer.
