Recently, she posted a photo showing the ABS-CBN logo and the former appearance of the number “2” as the signal frequency of the network when it returned to the air in 1986 with the tagline: “Watch Us Do It Again!”

The photo also reads “July 14-November 30, 1986” —the first five months in which the station re-energized their broadcasting capacity.

After the historic EDSA People Power Revolution on February 25, 1986, which signaled the resignation of former dictator President Ferdinand Marcos, former President Cory Aquino returned the ownership of the network to the Lopez family.

The station was held by the Marcos government for thirteen years from 1972 to 1986, so it started with nothing after the turnover.

On September 16, 1986, ABS-CBN aired again and in 1987, ABS-CBN rebranded and re-emerged as “The Star Network.”

But on Friday, July 10, the House Committee on Legislative Franchises finally rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN Corporation.
