Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had tested positive for coronavirus disease.
Jair Bolsonaro, the President of Brazil, officially announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This, as Bolsonaro himself on Tuesday spoke on Brazilian TV channels as he announced his COVID-19 test result. According to him, the public knew that it will reach a “considerable part of the population” sooner or later, adding that the COVID-19 test result was “positive” for him.
Moreover, he also said that First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro was also tested for COVID-19.
Following his diagnosis, Bolsonaro said in an interview with CNN Brasil that he will steer clear of in-person meetings in the future.
According to him, he won’t go to see anyone for their meetings, adding that everything would be done through video conference and he would “rarely” meet people if he needs to deal with the more reserved matters.
Moreover, Bolsonaro said that the coronavirus disease can be “decisive” and may lead to death.

Prior to the announcement of his COVID-19 test result, the press office of Bolsonaro told CNN Brasil that the President was being treated with azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine while waiting for his fourth COVID-19 test result in four months.
Bolsonaro then warned the public to not get near him due to his recent condition.
