Palawan Fisherman Obtains Wounds and Injuries After Attacked by Crocodile

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – A hardworking fisherman sustained wounds and injuries after allegedly attacked by a crocodile.

Nowadays, fishing is one of the most common sources of income and livelihood not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world. However, this kind of livelihood is not easy and fisherfolks could face danger while performing the job.

The fisherman identified as Janilon Daking Amalong has been rushed to a hospital in Puerto Princesa City after he was attacked by a crocodile. Amalong is trying to catch fish around 1:00 am in the morning when the incident happened.

The 25-year-old man together with his uncle Monching Daki was trying to catch fish using a spear gun at Sitio Silom-Silom, Brgy. Catagupan, Balabac, Palawan when a crocodile suddenly attacked them.

Amalong sustained wounds on his head and left eye. He was rushed to a Rural Health Unit in Balabac but eventually transferred to the hospital in Puerto Princesa City, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) MIMAROPA Spokesperson Police Lieutenant Col. Imelda Tolentino.
