The DOH reported new cases of coronavirus disease for today, July 1, 2020
The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported new cases of coronavirus disease in the Philippines as of today, July 1, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 999 new cases wherein 595were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 404 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 38,511 as of 4:00 p.m. of July 1, 2020.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 205 additional recoveries and four new fatalities due to COVID-19. This brought the total number of recoveries to 10,438 and total fatalities to 1,270.
For “fresh” cases, 175 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 134 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 286 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 131 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 57 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 216 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Wednesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
