The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today, July 15, 2020.
According to DOH’s COVID-19 Case Bulletin #123 dated July 15, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,392 new coronavirus cases wherein 512 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 880 were identified as “late” cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 58,850.
The Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Wednesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 517 new recoveries and 11 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 20,976 and total coronavirus deaths to 1,614.
Moreover, the Department of Health reported 36,260 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #123 dated July 15, 2020.
The Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of coronavirus cases as of July 15 only: Metro Manila with 708 new cases, Cebu with 198 new cases, Iloilo with 86 new cases, Laguna with 64 new cases, and Cavite with 46 new cases.
