Last Wednesday, July 1, ABS-CBN faced anew the congress in its franchise renewal woes.

Among who questioned the country’s giant network that was forced to shut down following a cease and desist order by the National Telecommunications Communication (NTC) is Elpidio Barzaga, the incumbent Congressman for Dasmariñas.

In the said hearing, he cited a source from Wikipedia as he questioned ABS-CBN Chief Financial Officer, Aldrin Cerrado.

The video has generated massive reactions from the netizens with some criticizing the solon about his apparent citation of Wikipedia during the ABS-CBN hearing.

“Kababayan ko itong si Barzaga pero sa lahat naman ng documents yung galing pa sa Wikipedia ang inihaharap niya sa kongreso. Di ba niya alam na ang anumang information na nakalagay sa Wikipedia ay unverified at unofficial,” @dumidyeypee wrote.

“The HONORABLE Is using wiki as his source of information? WOW!!! Just wow! Please vote wisely and hope people with competence, respect and compassion run for the different position in the Government,” @franciskykes commented.

“Hahahahaha “next kwechon”. Bilis eh. Di lumusot wikipedia niya e. Sino ba yang parang tambay lang datingan ah,” @NginamoKing noted.

Recently, Elpidio Barzaga, a CPA-lawyer, was also criticized with his questioning on ABS-CBN about the network’s alleged tax violations.
