Civil rights leader Rev. Cordy Tindell “C.T.” Vivian died at the age of 95.
Rev. Cordy Tindell “C.T.” Vivian, a 95-year-old civil rights leader, has died. Vivian’s passing was confirmed by his daughter Kira Vivian as she spoke to CNN.
Kira Vivian told CNN that her father died of “natural causes” at his home in Atlanta. She even described her father as the “sweetest man”, a “loving dad”, and the “best father” throughout her entire life.
Rev. Cordy Tindell “C.T.” Vivian died on the same day as United States Congressman John Lewis. In a report on CNN, Lewis and Vivian’s death came as the United States was still grappling with “racial upheaval” in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

In a separate report, Vivian’s daughter Denise Morse said that her father had been in “hospice care“.
As defined by cancer.org, hospice care was a “special kind of care” that focused more on the “quality of life” for patients and their caregivers who were experiencing an “advanced” and “life-limiting” illness.

In addition, hospice care can provide “compassionate care” for patients in the last phases of “incurable disease” in order for them to live as comfortably and fully as possible.
