Here are the 9 things you didn’t know about “Through Night and Day”
Through Night and Day continues to dominate in the online streaming platform, Netflix- giving tears among viewers of the must-see love story of Jen (Alessandra de Rossi) and Ben (Paolo Contis).
Through Night and Day centers on the story of an engaged couple, Ben and Jen, who traveled to Iceland for their prenup.
In the long run, a series of unfortunate events happened and among those were the heartbreaking split and reunion of the couple who broke up after 13 years.

Meanwhile, Noreen Capili, the writer of this 2018-released movie listed “9 things you didn’t know about Through Night and Day.”
- Alessandra de Rossi was supposed to write the movie. Buo na sa utak niya ang kuwento. Pumunta siya ng Iceland mag-isa in April 2018 para mag research sa lugar, at malagyan ng detalye ang mga eksena. Pero dahil busy siya sa soap opera that time, hindi niya nagawa.
- June 2018, tumawag sa akin si Alex habang nasa taping siya. Akala ko tsismisan lang pero bigla akong inutusan kumuha ng ballpen at papel. Kinuwento na pala niya ang movie na ipapasulat niya sa akin! Habang nagtitake notes, mega react din ako sa mga nangyayari kay Jen and Ben. Akala ko ang ending yung nagbreak na sila sa Iceland – putsa, may mas matinding twist pa pala!
- Before writing the script, I had to schedule a “check up” with my neurosurgeon. Akala niya may sakit na naman ako. Yun pala, iinterviewhin ko lang siya. Mahal ang PF ng neurosurgeon ko but it was worth it. Nakatulong sa pagsusulat ang mga sinabi niya sa akin.
- Ito dapat ang directorial debut ni Alessandra pero naisip niya, napakahirap ng role ni Jen, tapos siya pa ang director – mababaliw siya! One of the producers wanted a male director sana but they finally agreed na si Veronica Velasco ang tamang director para sa project na ‘to.
- Through Night and Day ang title kasi it’s a line from Eric Clapton’s song, Tears in Heaven. Ito dapat ang OST ng movie pero hindi nakuha ang rights dahil ayaw daw ni Eric (wow close) ipagamit sa iba ang song na personal sa kanya. So the producers opted for I Will Be Here. Sa proposal scene ni Ben, he was supposed to sing I Will be Here. Para mas masakit kapag kinanta ulit nilang dalawa ni Jen. Ben’s proposal song was composed by Joey Marquez.
- Muntikan na ikamatay ni Alessandra yung scene sa pool. Hypothermia. Hindi na siya makahinga at naninigas na siya kaya kailangan siyang balutin sa thermal blanket at yakapin. Nanginginig siya noong binibihisan namin siya sa maduming CR at nahulog ang dala niyang panty. I asked her, “Okay lang ba sa’yo isuot ang nahulog na panty?” “Hindeeeee!” So ayun – wala siyang panty buong araw. At least buhay siya. 😂
- The funny lines and scenes in the movie – it’s a collaborative effort. Malaki ang natulong ng dalawang artista sa mga punchlines. Iba talaga kapag natural na komedyante. Swabe ang bitawan ng hirit and jokes. Yung mga bastos na punchlines – kay Paolo yun!
- Direk Roni gave Alex and Paolo the freedom kung paanong atake nila sa mga roles nila while in Iceland. Before take, habang nagsi-set up ang crew, you’d find Alex and Paolo rehearsing their dialogues and brainstorming paano nila gagawin yung eksena.
- Alex created the story with Empoy in mind. Kaya daw childhood friends si Ben at Jen para tanggap na nila ang isa’t isa (haha). Pero may nagsuggest na si Paolo na lang kunin and he was perfect for the role.
