Vanessa Bryant shared an old photo of her late husband Kobe wherein he was wearing his black shirt paired with his jersey shorts.
This, as Vanessa shared this photo amidst unrest in the United States following the death of George Floyd.
In her Instagram post, Vanessa said that her late husband wore this shirt way back in 2014 and yet the history repeated itself.
Vanessa then reminded the public that life was “fragile”, “unpredictable”, and “too short”, adding that the public must “share and embrace” the qualities and similarities shared as people. She also mentioned that the public won’t use innocent lives lost “as an excuse to loot” and they must be “an example of change” that the public wanted to see.
George Floyd died in police custody in police custody in Minneapolis — handcuffed and pinned to the ground. His death had sparked a wave of protests across the country and around the world.
The said photo that Vanessa shared on her Instagram account was taken before a Los Angeles Lakers game way back in December 2014. The final words of Eric Garner — a person who died in police custody way back in July 2014 in New York City — was used as a reference in Kobe’s shirt.
