The Pokémon Company announced that it is developing a 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) mobile game called Pokémon Unite.

The Pokémon Company made the announcement via a live-streamed event known as Pokémon Presents on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

Pokémon Unite will have the same genre as the top-rated MOBA games including DOTA 2, League of Legends, Arena of Valor, and the leading mobile MOBA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

It will also have the same mechanics as any other MOBA with the players fighting across 3 lanes on the map while allowing their favorite variety of Pokémon including Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and to name a few, level up and learn new skills.

According to Rappler.com, Tencent and Timi Studios, the game developer of Arena of Valor, and Call of Duty: Mobile is the studio behind the soon-to-be-released Pokémon Unite.

This is not the first time that the Pokémon Company ventured into mobile games. In 2016, they released Pokémon GO which became a globally-renowned mobile app.

Pokémon Unite will be available on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.

However, there is still no official release date of the highly anticipated 5v5 mobile game of Pokémon.
