The second tranche of COVID-19 cash aid will be distributed even if R.A. 11469 expired, according to the Palace.
The Palace on Monday assured the public that the second tranche of COVID-19 cash assistance will be distributed to families even if the law governing it expired.
This, as Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said that the expiration of Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, which was scheduled to expire on June 25, will not affect the second tranche of cash aid for families under the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Under the Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, every beneficiary would receive cash assistance ranging from PHP 5,000 to PHP 8,000 for the month of April and May 2020 based on the minimum wage rates in the region.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development released a statement saying that the DSWD was on the process of preparing for the distribution of cash assistance to 5 million “waitlisted families” directed by President Rodrigo Duterte to be included in the first tranche of the implementation of Social Amelioration Program (SAP).
Beneficiaries in Bacolod City, Benguet, Davao City, Metro Manila, Cebu Province, Southern Tagalog Region, Iloilo, Central Luzon (except Aurora province), Pangasinan, Zamboanga City, and Albay Province were entitled to DSWD’s second tranche of COVID-19 cash assistance.
