Actress Max Collins opened up about her fears and anxieties over giving birth in the middle of a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a feature on Preview, Collins said that she just felt like she wouldn’t be comfortable at giving birth in a hospital considering that the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines. She added that she did her research, watched documentariesm, and asked questions in order for her to figure out what her other options aside from giving birth inside the hospital.
Collins admitted that she would have considered having a home birth, yet she felt like having a home birth was her “best decision” for herself and her son. She also admitted that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused her to experience anxiety.
Although Collins said that she didn’t know how to cope with her fear of “not knowing if things would ever go back to normal” and on how the “new normal” would affect her baby’s future. Collins noted that things happened for a reason and she knew that answers would arrive when you least expect it in the middle of an uncertainty and fear.
She also said that she sought her baby as “a blessing“, adding that there’s nothing she would prioritize more than her baby.
