Cebu COVID-19 Patients Includes Lapu-Lapu Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan
Lapu-Lapu Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan confirmed on social media that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Several provinces in the Philippines got cases of COVID-19. This coronavirus was first recorded in China last December 2019 but it has scattered across the globe now.
In PH, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 24,175 COVID-19 cases; 1,036 deaths; and 5,165 recoveries. The entire country is still under a community quarantine now.

General Community Quarantine (GCQ) is implemented in high risk areas. The low and medium risk areas are adapting the Modified GCQ now. All measures are set to expire this June 15.
One of the provinces with confirmed cases of COVID-19 is Cebu. In fact, Cebu City has the highest recorded cases of coronavirus as it has confirmed over 2,000 cases of the disease.
Recently, the residents in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu were alarmed. It was after they found out that Lapu-Lapu Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan tested positive for COVID-19.
The Lapu-Lapu Mayor took to the social media an announcement that he was confirmed positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, he assured them not to worry about him as it is part of his job and he has surrendered his life to God as he serves the city.
In his Facebook post, Mayor Chan also stressed that coronavirus exempts no one and it is an invisible enemy. He is currently under quarantine after testing positive for the disease.
Despite his condition now, the Mayor assured that he will continue to work and fulfill his job. He will be doing it through virtual meetings. He assured the people of his continuous service to the public.
