Although admired by many for being a popular fashion model, Kelsey Merritt is vocal about her flaws including her stretch marks that she needs to embrace.
Recently, she posted a picture on her Instagram account showing her stretch marks on her body, still gained admiration from the netizens.
She said this was to encourage women not to be ashamed of their flaws and not to be pressured by how the society looks at their figure.
According to Kelsey, working in the modeling industry can be very challenging because a model should have so-called ‘beauty standards.’ But she is trying to break these stereotypes and become a body-positive advocate.
The popular Fil-Am model emphasizes that whatever she posts online is true so her followers won’t feel as if they have to look like her in order to feel great about themselves.

“I see that in other people and I don’t want them to feel that way through my photos. So I try to be as authentic as I can, in any way that I can and it is my responsibility as a public figure.,” she said according to the entertainment website, Push.
Kelsey, who is now based in Los Angeles, California is already modeling for Victoria’s Secrets and is part of the Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue.
