Jeepney Drivers Urges PH Government To Let Them Return to Work Amid GCQ

Several jeepney drivers help a protest calling on the government to let them return to their jobs after the quarantine measure has been eased.

A lot of Filipino workers are currently struggling with their finances after the coronavirus pandemic suspends most of the business establishment in the country. The government placed the entire Luzon and other parts of the country under an enhanced community quarantine.

The livelihoods of many of our countrymen have been affected by the lockdown as the government aims to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease.

The Twitter page “Philstar.com” has shared the photos of jeepney drivers protesting in Quezon City. The drivers are urging the government to allow them to return on their work. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the photos, it can be seen that the jeepney drivers are urging the administration to let them return from picking up passengers and earn money after over two months of quarantine in Luzon.

The drivers conduct a rally after the government changed the enhanced community quarantine into general community quarantine but did not lift the ban on public buses and jeepney.
