DOH Reports New Cases Of Coronavirus Disease For Today, June 18, 2020

DOH reported new cases of coronavirus disease for June 18, 2020.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of 4:00 p.m. of June 18, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health reported 562 new COVID-19 cases wherein 481 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 81 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 27,799.

For “fresh” cases, 120 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 273 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 88 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 33 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 26 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 22 were from different areas in the Philippines.

According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Wednesday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 270 additional recoveries and nine new fatalities due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,090 and total fatalities to 1,116.

Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 19,310 total active cases as of June 17, 2020, wherein 416 patients were asymptomatic, 18,810 patients were in mild condition, 65 patients were in severe condition, and 19 patients were in critical condition.
