Christopher de Leon’s message to mom Lilia Dizon
Actor Christopher de Leon took to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein he posted a photo of him along with his late mom, Lilia Dizon, accompanied by a simple message.
On Monday, June 15, veteran actress Lilia Dizon, the mother of Christopher de Leon, died at the age of 92.
Lilia Dizon passed away in her home in Paranaque at exactly 8:20 a.m. over complications due to lung cancer.
Lilia Dizon rose to fame in 1950s when she starred in some of the remarkable movies under LVN Pictures such as “Bathaluman,” “Sanda Wong” and “Kandilerong Pilak” wherein she won Asia’s Best Actress in 1956.
But in her tender age at 17, she tied the knot with her former husband Gil de Leon, who was 16 years her senior.
However, after eighteen years of marriage, they got separated. She was 36 at the time when they ended their marriage.
In the year 1966, she went to Salinas, California, and lived with her father- leaving her career and children (Christopher, Melissa and Pinky).
She remarried a certain Antonio Abad with whom she had two daughters Toni and Cori.
But before she died, some of her colleagues in the entertainment industry including several veteran stars gave their message of support to Lilia Dizon as she battles lung cancer.
