Army Soldier In Sulu Tests Positive For Coronavirus Disease

An army soldier in Sulu had tested positive for coronavirus disease, according to Joint Task Force Sulu.

The Joint Task Force Sulu said on Saturday that an enlisted Army soldier in Sulu had tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This, as the said Army soldier was identified as a 21-year-old enlisted soldier who arrived in Sulu from Zamboanga City last May 27 and was part of the team.

The said soldier was admitted to a hospital in Sulu last June 15 because of fever and rashes. In addition, the said soldier had a swab test a day later and the test result was released last June 18 which turned out that the said soldier had tested positive for coronavirus disease.

As of 4:00 p.m. of June 19, 2020, the Department of Health reported 460 additional fresh COVID-19 cases and 201 additional late COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 28,459.

Aside from fresh and late COVID-19 cases, the Department of Health also reported 288 additional recoveries and 14 new fatalities due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,378 and total fatalities to 1,130.

Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force Sulu also said that the team was already taking all required measures in order to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19. As per the report, contact tracing was “ongoing”.
