UK Might Be Phasing Out 5G Infrastructure Of Huawei Technologies By 2023

The British government might be phasing out Huawei Technologies’ 5G infrastructure by 2023 as as conservative members had pressured UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

This, despite the British government previously allowing Huawei Technologies to work on bringing 5G network to UK. In a report on Gizmochina, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been pushed towards drawing up a plan that would effectively phasing out the telecommunications equipment made by Huawei Technologies soon.

The said plan came amid the multiple accusations being alleged by the US government.

Huawei was previously allowed to to only have a market share of 35% in the UK, which was similar to the Australian government’s restrictions.

The US government had also encouraged the British government to ban ban China’s Huawei Technologies in a similar way, yet UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson had deemed Huawei’s involvement necessary at that point.

Other countries were also having similar debates with regards to Huawei’s involvement in their country’s move to adopt the newer and faster bandwidth. Some countries wanted to adopt 5G technology through an infrastructure provided by the Chinese company, while others may felt a threat of national security.

However, the plans of the British government might be a sign of an increased resistance being faced by Huawei Technologies in the western regions. According to Sir Iain Duncan, a conservative leader, he hoped and believed that it would be the start of “a complete and thorough review of our dangerous dependency on China.”
