Fortunately, the couple recovered and are well. Just recently, Sylvia is on the news again but this time, it is about the act of kindness that she did.
Based on the article from Bandera, the actress donated medical supplies to six hospitals located in her home province Agusan del Norte. This information was posted on the official social media account of the province.
“Provincial Governor Dale Corvera expressed thanks to actress Ms. Sylvia Sanchez and the Atayde Family for helping her home province in this crucial times as we faced an unseen enemy by donating PPEs, masks, gloves, shields and alcohol enough for the 6 hospitals of Agusan del Norte. Sanchez was born and raised in the municipality of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte,” the post stated.
When entertainment columnist Regee Bonoan tried to reach out to Sylvia Sanchez regarding this, the latter did not replied through chat. According to Bonoan, the award-winning actress is known for helping without any publicity. Her donations was only publicize because the recipient was the one who posted it.
The columnist added that those who are in the entertainment industry also observe the “no work, no pay” policy. Amid the lockdown and projects are being postponed, it is an extra effort if artists extend a helping hand to the less fortunate people.
Based on the article, Art Atayde was asked if they will donate blood plasma and his answer to this was, “May rapid testing pa kami bukas, after the test, malalaman kung puwede kaming mag-donate ng plasma.”
