PAL to Resume Domestic and International Flights Starting June 1

PAL to resume “limited” domestic, international flights starting June 1.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will resume its operation for domestic and international flights but on a “limited capacity” starting Monday, June 1, 2020.

The flag carrier said in its advisory that it will “resume operating scheduled flights on selected international and domestic routes” beginning June 1.

According to a report of ABS-CBN News, flights in the following international destinations; United States, Canada, Guam, mainland China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will also resume.

“We are evaluating the possibility of operating selected services to London and Sydney during June 2020,” PAL noted in a statement.

However, flights in the following destinations: Auckland, Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Busan, Fukuoka, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Macau, Melbourne, Phnom Penh, Perth, Port Moresby, Quanzhou (Jinjiang), Sapporo, Seoul (Incheon) and Shanghai will remain suspended for the month of June.

The flag carrier also noted that there will be a “reduced number of domestic flights” particularly trips from and to Manila.

Here are the destinations with a reduced number of domestic flights:

  • Puerto Princesa
  • Busuanga
  • Bacolod
  • Cebu
  • Dumaguete
  • Iloilo
  • Kalibo
  • Caticlan
  • Roxas
  • Tacloban
  • Tagbilaran
  • Butuan
  • Cotabato
  • Cagayan de Oro
  • Dipolog
  • Davao
  • General Santos
  • Ozamiz
  • Pagadian
  • Zamboanga

Operation of the country’s leading airline company has been suspended for more than two months as the country prohibited travel; domestic and international amid COVID-19 pandemic.

However, limited flights were granted in order to accommodate repatriated overseas Filipino workers, delivery of essential goods and services including medical supplies, and sweeper flights for foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, the quarantine status of Metro Manila and other areas such as Regions 2, 3, 4A, Pangasinan, Albay, and Davao City will downgrade from Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine to GCQ starting June 1. But all other areas will be placed under MGCQ.
