Viral post of a man who created his DIY drone using his kite and this device circulated online.
A certain post caught the attention of the netizens when a man from Cebu City made his DIY (do-it-yourself) drone using only his kite and this device.
This, as Eljem Po Gio posted photos on social media sharing his invention while observing community quarantine measures in their area. His post, as of this writing, reached over 6,700 shares.
The Philippines imposed community quarantine measures in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19. With this, the national government encouraged the public to observe social distancing and maintain proper hygiene.
Community quarantine measures taught Filipino residents on how to present their hidden capabilities and talents while following the directives from the national government. One of them was Eljem Po Gio, the person who made his own DIY drone.
In his post, he made his kite first and then he attached his smartphone on his kite.
Considering that his smartphone was heavier than his kite, he still wanted to test it outside. Will this be possible if his kite can handle his smartphone’s weight as it flies?
After assembling his DIY drone, he decided to test out his invention outside their house. He made sure that his smartphone started recording before taking a flight.
After testing out his DIY drone, he reviewed the footage from his smartphone. A three-minute video was recorded while his kite was on its flight. Although the uploader didn’t post the actual footage, he still provides screen-captured photos from the footage itself. You can view his post below:
