Limited-edition Skittles Pride Packs To Arrive In The US

Limited-edition Skittles Pride Packs Will Arrive In The United States Soon.

Skittles officially announced that its limited-edition Pride packs will arrive in the United States — and urging its customers to “give the rainbow”.

This, as Skittles produced its limited-edition Pride packs in order to support and celebrate Pride Month with the LGBTQ+ community. These packs previously appeared in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

This version has gray candies and has its signature S at the center of each candy. The twist? You may not be able to identify its five original flavors — strawberry, orange, lemon, green apple, and grape.

Share The Rainbow. Taste The Rainbow.

The idea of using only monochromatic colors was that Skittles was “giving up its rainbow” in order to let its customers know that “only #OneRainbow matters” and to show the company’s support for the LGBTQ+ community as well. Also, Skittles will be donating USD 1.00 per pack as the company had partnered with GLAAD, aiming to reach USD 100,000 in June 2020.

In a press release, Hank Izzo, the vice president of marketing of Mars Wrigley in the United States, said that Skittles was passionate about showing its support for the LGBTQ+ community while this year’s Pride month may look different due to global crisis caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Also, Izzo said that “giving up our rainbow means so much more than just removing the colors” from its packs.

Price and Availability

The limited-edition Skittles Pride packs would be available in Share Size Packs (worth USD 1.79) and Medium Stand Up Pouches (worth USD 2.59). Since Pride month was celebrated every June of the year in the United States, Skittles might be expected to start selling its limited-edition packs in June as well.

As of this writing, Skittles didn’t announce the availability of its limited-edition packs in the Philippines. More updates about this may be posted soon. Thank you for visiting Philippine Newspaper!
