With this iOS and iPad update, Apple introduced new features as well as other improvements and bugs fixes. Here is the list of updates included in iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5.

Bug fixes and other improvements

With this update, Apple addressed an issue on both iPhone and iPad wherein users may see a black screen when they tried to play streaming video from some pages or sites. It also fixed an issue in its share sheet wherein actions and suggestions may not load.

Face ID and Passcode

With this update, Apple simplified its unlock process for both iPhone and iPad devices with Face ID as users can unlock their devices while wearing their face masks.

FaceTime

With this update, Apple added an option to “control automatic prominence” on group calls in a way that the video tiles on FaceTime didn’t change its size whenever a participant speaks.

Exposure Notification API

With this update, Apple introduced the Exposure Notification API in order to support the contact tracing apps from public health authorities. This API was developed in partnership with Google.

In order for its users to update their iPhone or iPad to its latest version, users may go to the Settings app, then tap General, then choose Software Update. However, if the iOS or iPadOS update won’t appear on their iPhone or iPad devices, it will appear on their devices soon.
