Here’s how Korina Sanchez started her “tsinelas” campaign

In her recent Instagram post, she shared how she started this act of kindness. “By accident, we discovered that slippers are a basic necessity overlooked by those who help. A pair would cost P50-P100. A very poor family would rather use this money to buy food or medicine or milk for an infant.” she shared.

With this, Korina said in any part of the country where there is poor, there is a child who has no slippers and just goes around bare-footed. In some cases, some children have slippers but not is a good condition anymore.

“Sira-sira ang tsinelas nila, pinipilit nalang suotin, masabi lang na may tsinelas silang suot,” she added. The TV host also said for a poor child, having slippers means dignity.

“They weep when I ask them why they don’t have slippers. Wala daw silang pera pambili. And then they cry again when I give the slippers, like a miracle suddenly happened,” Korina Sanchez said.

She also pointed out that people should realize how lucky they are if they are not in this kind of situation. Korina also encourage the public to help.

“Remember, giving and helping is essential to one’s #BestLife (green heart emoji),” the Rated K host said. Several netizens attested on what she said regarding the value of slippers to children.
