Willie Revillame is ready for this decision amid COVID-19 crisis
Wowowin host Willie Revillame said that he is willing to sell his properties in order to help people who are affected by the COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines.
The health crisis that the country is facing right now and in many parts of the world is not just a problem concerning the health of people. It has affected commerce and the economy as well. Those who are informal workers such as vendors and PUV drivers.
With this kind of situation, Willie, just like other celebrities, has extended help to the less fortunate amid this trying time. Previously, he already donated P1 million, aside from the donations that his friends also gave.
The charitable endeavor of the TV host does not stop there as he is still asking authorities what else he can do to help others. Based on the article from Bandera, Willie already bought P1 million worth of rice and will provide also PPEs for frontliners.
“So hindi ito pampagaling, hindi ito pasikatan. Kailangan natin itong gawin kasi marami na talaga tayong kababayang naghihirap at nagugugtom. Ayoko namang iasa lahat sa gobyerno dahil siyempre ‘yung gobyerno nag-iingat din sa buhay nila,” he said.
On the other hand, Willie Revillame clarified that he is not challenging anyone but what he wants to do is to ask help. He also mentioned that he is willing to sell his properties and donate the money.
“Sa totoo nga ‘yung ibang property ko, gusto kong ibenta. Gusto ko talagang, kahit kalahati na ang mabenta, ibigay na. Dahil kawawa ang ating mga kababayan, sobra, nakikita sa hirap,” the TV host said, based on the article.
