Waze announced that it is now including in the app the COVID-19-related information.

Aside from getting instructions, or map services to where you want to go, the Google-owned GPS app, recently announced that it will also include information about the new coronavirus disease 2019.

Based on the report from Inquirer, the map application will also now has a feature that will provide users critical locations like the locations of emergency food distribution.

The popular application is already known for displaying the latest road and traffic information that is submitted in real-time by people using the application. This is due to its community of users and map editors.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Waze is also making its part to help people fight the virus through the information available in the app. Through the COVID-19-related information and the display of important locations, the company aims to provide drivers an easier navigation and journey to their essential needs amid the enhance community quarantine.

Based on the report, the app has partnered with No Kid Hungry and WhyHunger that will provide hundreds of locations where people can find food distributions locations in the United States.

Moreover, the app has reached out to its existing partners in order to provide users information regarding the latest update on road conditions amid the lockdown. This will also include information about road closure and where can be the nearest medical testing centers near the user’s area.

Another thing that Waze is doing during this pandemic is including the location where drive-thru can be found in order to help food small businesses and curbside pickups so that customers can have their essential needs.

The map app is also encouraging its users to submit map information to help update the location amid the crisis, based on the report.
