PINOY DOCTOR IN U.S. – A Filipino doctor in the United States who was voted as best doctor abroad thrice died of COVID-19.
Doctors and nurses are risking their lives as they perform their jobs now amid the pandemic, the 2019 coronavirus or COVID-19. That’s why they are called as the frontliners in the fight.
Not only medical professionals who have a direct contact with COVID-19 patients are contracting the disease but as well as those who don’t remember treating a coronavirus patient. It is because they are exposed to possible COVID-19 positive patients daily.
In the Philippines, at least twelve (12) doctors died of coronavirus. They are among the 362 fatalities in the country out of the 5,660 confirmed cases of the disease.
Abroad, a Pinoy doctor in U.S. died of COVID-19. Based on a report on NJ, Dr. Leo dela Cruz who passed away due to coronavirus was voted as one of the best doctors in New Jersey three times in a row.

“He was a great psychiatrist for the patients in our community and also a great friend and adviser for our own staff. If anyone was going through a rough period, he was there to help,” the CarePoint spokesman said based on the report.
Currently, over 1,900 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in New Jersey. It is part of the 5,300 reported cases in Hudson County.
