Handwritten Lyrics Of The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ Was Sold For USD 910,000

To mark The Beatles’ historic split’s golden anniversary, a handwritten lyrics of the band’s hit “Hey Jude” was sold for USD 910,000 (equivalent to PHP 46.1 million).

This, as a sheet of paper containing the handwritten document, which penned by Paul McCartney and used during the band’s recording of their classic track at Trident Studios in 1968, was sold in an online auction.

Aside from the handwritten document, Julien’s Auctions also selling other memorabilia of The Beatles in an online auction due to COVID-19 pandemic, including:

  • a drumhead with a logo of the Beatles which was sold for USD 200,000 (equivalent to PHP 10.1 million)
  • a handwritten shooting script page for the band’s “Hello, Goodbye” music video which was sold for USD 83,200 (equivalent to PHP 4.2 million)
