DOLE Issues Advisory On Deferring Payment Of April 2020 Holiday Pays

DOLE issued an advisory that deferring the payment of holiday pay for April 2020 holidays.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Wednesday issued an advisory that deferring the payment of holiday pay for April 2020 holidays.

Signed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, the labor department issued Labor Advisory No. 13-A Series of 2020.

In the said advisory, employers were allowed to put off the payment of holiday pay on April 9, 2020 (Araw ng Kagitingan and Maundy Thursday), April 10, 2020 (Good Friday), and April 11, 2020 (Special Non-working Day).

In addition, companies that have “totally closed” or stopped operations throughout the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) were exempted from the payment of April 2020 holiday pays under DOLE’s Labor Advisory No. 13 Series of 2020.
