1,000+ Healthcare Frontliners In The Philippines Positive for COVID-19 Amid Health Crisis
HEALTHCARE FRONTLINERS IN THE PHILIPPINES – More than 1,000 healthcare workers in the country tested positive for COVID-19.
In the fight against the spread of coronavirus, there are a lot of people who are taking the front line. They include the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and other medical workers.
Radio technologists, medical technologists, nursing assistants, and administrative workers in hospitals and clinics also risk their lives to help the country fight the disease.
COVID-19, a pandemic that has infected over 2.5 million people across the globe, is very hard to contain as it is very contagious. In the Philippines, there is now a total of 6,710 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the country.
Based on a post of Inquirer, out of these 6,710 confirmed cases of coronavirus in PH, 1,062 of them are healthcare frontliners in the Philippines. They are doctors, nurses, medtechs, radtechs, nursing assistances, and administrative workers who tested positive for COVID-19.
- Doctors – 422
- Nurses – 386
- Nursing Assistants – 51
- Medical Technologists – 30
- Radio Technologists – 21
- Administrative Workers – 152
Sadly, there are already several healthcare frontliners in the Philippines who died of COVID-19. At least twelve (12) doctors lost their lives to the disease.
There are also doctors, nurses, and other medical workers who survived the coronavirus infection. Fortunately, most of those who gave their testimonies are still so dedicated to the oath they have sworn.
A lot of people are praying for the safety of the medical frontliners. Their lives are at risk in this battle and may they be protected from the invisible enemy.
