Entire Luzon Placed by President Duterte Under Enhanced Community Quarantine, Palace Says
President Rodrigo Duterte has placed the entire Luzon under enhanced community quarantine to contain the coronavirus disease.
On Monday (March 16, 2020), Malacañang Palace presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that President Duterte announced a lockdown of the entire Luzon to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.
The enhanced community quarantine includes the strict home quarantine in all households, suspension of transportation, food provision and essential health services, and increased police visibility.
“PRRD [Duterte] just announced an enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon,” Panelo said.
The measure comes after President Duterte approved the hoisting Code Red Sublevel 2 and placed the National Capital Region under community quarantine. The Department of Health recorded 140 cases of COVID-19 including 12 deaths.
Earlier, the Cabinet official proposed a total lockdown of Metro Manila, which they did not call an enhanced quarantine. Panelo also clarified that it was just a community quarantine and not a lockdown. He also assured the public that there is a sufficient supply of food.
“This is a matter of national survival. We have to be resigned to that fact. This is a matter of life and death. The only way to stop this is for us to help ourselves,” Panelo added.

How about the poor people doesn’t food to eat? The Goverment gives support for food?? Maybe some provinces people will died for no food to eat! Because people can’t do anything cannot go for work and can’t sell anything, no daily income ! That said is people has money they are panic buying but all are poor people are hungry and no food to eat!!
