National Emergency Declared In U.S. Due to 2019 Novel Coronavirus
NATIONAL EMERGENCY DECLARED IN U.S. – United States President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency over the 2019 novel coronavirus.
The United States is one of the countries affected by the 2019 novel coronavirus. It is amid the U.S. implementing strict measures on its entry ports.
More than 2,000 people are infected by the new coronavirus in U.S. and the death toll has exceeded 500. Many Americans are worried that the numbers may continue to increase in the next weeks. The said disease left China under an outbreak.
Amid the increasing confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States, a state of national emergency was declared in U.S. by President Donald Trump. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the said move allocates up to $40 as assistance to local authorities.
The U.S. President made the declaration in a press conference held in the White House’s Rose Garden based on the report. According to him, he will “unleash the full power of the federal government” in fighting the 2019 novel coronavirus.
Previously, Pres. Trump was quite not in favor of having himself tested for coronavirus. During the press conference, he reverted his stand and said that he will likely to undergo a testing for the disease.
U.S. are expecting millions of testing kits to arrive soon. According to the U.S. President, 1.4 tests may be made available next week and five (5) million may be expected within a month.
