EB Magalona Resident Suggested As PUI After Showing Symptoms of Coronavirus

EB MAGALONA RESIDENT – A physician in the municipality of Enrique B. Magalona in Negros Occidental confirmed that a person was suggested as a patient under investigation (PUI) after showing coronavirus symptoms.

Currently, there is a stricter watch with regards to possible coronavirus cases in the Philippines. It is after the total count of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country continued to increase for a few days now.

As of this morning, March 11, 2020, there is a total of 33 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines based on the information from the Department of Health (DOH). Most patients are admitted in the different hospitals in Metro Manila.

Aside from the DOH, several local government units and health authorities have also released announcement about suspected cases of coronavirus in their areas. Some mayors were also quick to inform the public following the confirmed cases.

In Negros Occidental, a physician in the municipality of EB Magalona confirmed that an EB Magalona resident showed symptoms of coronavirus. She was suggested as a PUI.

Speaking to Daily Guardian, EB Magalona Rural Health Physician Dr. Fayne Marie Tampus expressed that the patient experiences cough, fever, and breathing difficulties. All of which are signs similar to the symptoms of coronavirus.

Based on the post, Dr. Tampus further revealed that the patient was also checked by a private clinic in the city of Victorias. It was the unnamed clinic that recommended her as PUI.

The said patient was already not feeling well before she met with Japanese students according to the doctor. The said students came to EB Magalona for an immersion last March 2.

Dr. Tampus expressed that the said EB Magalona resident showing coronavirus symptoms was brought to a hospital in Bacolod City yesterday. Meanwhile, she stressed that there is still no confirmed case of COVID-19 in the town nor the province of Negros Occidental.
