11 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed in the Philippines – DOH
DOH – There are 11 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed in the Philippines, the Department of Health announced.
Philippines got confirmed cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus once again. Last week, two (2) Filipinos were confirmed positive for the disease that held China under an outbreak and millions of people worrying for their safety.
The said Filipinos were the 4th and 5th patients of the disease in PH. The first three (3) patients were all Chinese nations – one of them died while being treated in San Lazaro Hospital, the first coronavirus death case outside China.
After the confirmation of two (2) cases last week, the wife of the 5th patient also tested positive for the disease. It was the followed by four (4) more people adding on to the list.
Yesterday, the Department of Health reported 11 new cases of coronavirus in the country. It brought the total to 20 which was shortly led to 24 after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced four (4) more confirmed cases of the disease.
Recently, the DOH posted on Facebook an update about the coronavirus cases in the Philippines. According to the health department, 11 new confirmed cases of the disease were recorded bringing the total to 35.
Currently, the health department has yet to post additional details on the matter. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
UPDATE: DOH clarified that the additional confirmed coronavirus cases are nine (9) and not eleven (11). The health department apologized over the previous announcement citing the 11 refers to positive specimens and not cases.
