Child in Oriental Mindoro 1st COVID-19 Confirmed Case in the Province

CHILD IN ORIENTAL MINDORO – The province confirmed its first case of the COVID-19 or the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Currently, there is an increasing number of coronavirus or COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. According to the Department of Health (DOH), the public can expect a rise to the total number as more and more people are being tested now.

The DOH reported that there is now a total of 707 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country. The entire Luzon is now under an enhance community quarantine to prevent the spread of the disease.

Several provinces, cities, and municipalities also declared an enhanced community quarantine to fight the spread of COVID-19.

Recently, a heartbreaking update crossed the surface. The province of Oriental Mindoro confirmed its first case of COVID-19 and the patient is a 1-year-old child in Oriental Mindoro.

According to Governor Bonz Dolor, the 1 year and 9 months old child in Oriental Mindoro is from Barangay Ilaya in Calapan City. The patient has a travel history to Alabang.

The Governor asked the Department of Health (DOH) to reevaluate the child and it was urgently granted. His parents will also be tested for coronavirus.
