PNP Chief: Espenido Relieved, Recalled To Camp Crame

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday confirmed that a police officer has been relieved from his post due to undisclosed reasons.

According to the Philippine National Police, Police Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido, former police chief of Ozamiz City and Albuera in Leyte, has been relieved from his post as deputy chief for operations of the Bacolod City Police.

This, after the Philippine National Police removed 14 police officials, with ranks from police lieutenant colonel to brigadier general, as part of a sweeping reshuffle by PNP Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa.

Orders from the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management showed Police Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido has been recalled to the national police headquarters in Camp Crame and was reassigned to the Office of the PNP Chief.

PNP Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa’s relief orders have placed hundreds of policemen on floating status.
