Bello Confirms Pinay Dies in Dubai Due to Strain of Coronavirus

PINAY – A Filipina working in Dubai died of a still undetermined strain of coronavirus.

A lot of Filipinos are working or residing abroad. This is why the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Department of Health (DOH), and other authorities have a lot of work to do amid the novel coronavirus scare.

The said disease was first recorded in Wuhan City in China. The city is now under a lock-down due to the outbreak that infected nearly 8,000 people and left at least 420 dead.

The government and the public agencies have already set the repatriation of the OFWs from China who wanted to go home to the Philippines. Aside from Pinoys in China, they are also monitoring the Filipinos in other countries.

Pinay Dies in Dubai Due To Coronaviru

Recently, a sad news crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a Pinay died in Dubai due to a strain of the coronavirus. According to Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, the said strain has yet to be determined.

The OFW is a 58-year-old woman who has worked in Dubai for 28 years already. Her family is originally from Sta. Maria in Ilocos Sur but they are now residing in General Santos City.

Based on the report, the Pinay who died in Dubai tested negative for the 2019 novel coronavirus – the strain of coronavirus that hit China. Her family has already been informed of her passing.

Citing the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health’s report, she passed away on February 5 with pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome as the listed “underlying cause of death”. The listed “immediate cause of death” was septic shock.

Reportedly, there are already preparations of the repatriation of her remains. Her daughter will be flying to Dubai for it.
