Authority In Israel Confirms First Coronavirus Case in the Country
ISRAEL CONFIRMS FIRST CORONAVIRUS CASE – A doctor in Israel spoke about the first coronavirus patient in the country.
China is now dealing a very huge challenge that puts the health of its citizens at risk. The said challenge is the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country.
Over 1,000 people in China died due to coronavirus and more than 60,000 are now infected and under treatment. The said disease is characterized by flu-like symptoms including fever, coughing, and breathing difficulties but a patient may also be asymptomatic.
Outside China, one of those with several confirmed coronavirus cases is the Diamond Princess cruise ship that docked in Japan. The said vessel was quarantined after one of its passengers tested positive for the disease.
The confirmed cases continued to increase daily. The infected passengers and crew were brought to local hospitals in Japan. The ship was under quarantine for 14 days.
The quarantine period for the Japan cruise ship has come to an end. Different countries can now repatriated their citizens who were aboard the said vessel.
Israel is one of those which brought its citizens home. However, recently, an authority in Israel confirmed the first coronavirus case in the country as a returnee from Japan cruise ship tested positive for the disease.
Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, the said patient is one of those 11 returnees from the infected cruise ship in Japan. The other returnees tested negative for the virus.
According to Hospitals Infectious Diseases Unit Director Dr. Gili Regev-Yochay, the returnees are all in “full isolation” now. They are at Sheba Medical Center.
“We try to make it as best as we could to have them in a very nice and comfortable place, but very isolated,” the doctor said based on the report.
With regards to the first coronavirus patient in Israel, Dr. Yochay expressed that the woman “is not sick”. The doctor added that the patient is showing no symptoms but is a carried of the virus.
