According to zoo officials in Mexico, Xin Xin and Shuan Shuan were the only giant pandas in the world “not owned by China”.

This, as Rafael Tinajero, a manager at the zoo, said in an interview with AFP News that Xin Xin and Shuan Shuan were the main attractions at the Chapultepec zoo in Mexico City, added that Xin Xin and Shuan Shuan was born in captivity in Mexico and these giant pandas “belong to Mexico” even though they have Chinese names.
