All Filipinos From 2019-nCoV Epicenter ‘Healthy’, Says DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said that all Filipinos repatriated from the epicenter of the 2019 novel coronavirus in China were healthy.

This, as DOH Spokesperson and Undersecretary Eric Domingo said that none of the 32 Filipinos from Wuhan city in China developed symptoms of the 2019 novel coronavirus since their arrival last Saturday at the Athletes’ Village in Capaz, Tarlac.

According to Mayor Rey Catacutan, the residents in Capaz in Tarlac previously held a rally while the town council planned a resolution against holding the quarantine in their area.

Domingo previously said that Health Secretary Francisco Duque III already reached out to local government officials and said that the repatriates “will not come in contact to the community.”

As of Monday, February 10, the 2019 novel coronavirus has killed more than 900 people and infected more than 40,000. The Philippines confirmed three cases of 2019 novel coronavirus, including 1 death. Manila also banned all inbound travel from Hongkong, China, and Macau.
