Evacuee from China Becomes 15th US Coronavirus Case
US CORONAVIRUS CASE – An evacuee from China who was flown to an Air Force base in Texas became the 15th confirmed case of nCoV in the United States.
The United States is one of the countries that were affected by the novel coronavirus or the COVID-19. Initially, the said disease was recorded in China in which the Hubei province is now under a mandatory lock-down.
The said strain of coronavirus infected more than 60,000 people in China including doctors and nurses who were treating the patients. More than 1,000 people died because of it.
In line with the pursuit to stop the spread of the virus as several other countries outside China were affected by the outbreak, some countries implemented a travel ban. The list includes the United States.
U.S. is also one of those countries that provided repatriation assistance for those people in China who wanted to go home to the country. The evacuees were placed under quarantine.
Recently, an evacuee flown to Lackland Air Force Base in Texas tested positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on Military Times, the patient is the 15th US coronavirus case.
According to the report, the patient is now confined and treated in a hospital and is isolated. With regards to the condition of the patient, it’s described as “stable”.
According to Centers for Disease Control’s Dr. Jennifer McQuiston, there may be additional cases of coronavirus in the future. She wants the public to prepare for it.
