CORONAVIRUS CASE IN BINONDO, MANILA – The Health Department clarified the rumors that someone tested positive for coronavirus in Binondo, Manila.

Thousands of people in China are currently infected by the novel coronavirus, a disease that has taken the lives of at least 80 people as of this writing. It was first recorded in Wuhan City in China.

Coronavirus reportedly comes along with fever, cough, and breathing difficulties as part of the symptoms. It is believed that it was taken from either bats or snakes served at the market in Wuhan.

The extent of the effect of the novel coronavirus is really alarming. In just a few days, it has infected thousands of people and even a doctor who initially helped in treating it died after acquiring the disease.

Coronavirus Case in Binondo, Manila

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China has reached other countries including the United States (US), Australia, and Japan. Nepal also recorded a case of the disease.

Most of these patients are those who have visited Wuhan City in December or in January. They are currently treated in hospitals and isolated to prevent infecting other individuals.

Recently, there were rumors that the disease has reached the Philippines. The alleged coronavirus case in Binondo, Manila alarmed a lot of people.

To stop the spreading of the rumors, the Manila health department broke its silence on the alleged coronavirus case in Binondo, Manila. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a statement, the health department denied the rumors.

According to the Manila Health Department, there is a Chinese man who is now hospitalized at Metropolitan Hospital but his diagnosis is pneumonia. The man who works at a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) suffered from fever and cough.

Based on the report, Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan assured that the Chinese man is now okay and has no fever anymore. The doctor also stressed that the patient did not have a travel to Wuhan.

“No history of exposure to a host or positive case,” Dr. Pangan said.
