In line with this, NHCP released an official statement on Friday to give warning to the public against disrespecting the national anthem of the Philippines. Although the agency did not mention the name of Bretman Rock, it directly addressed the said issue as they received several complaints.

NHCP also reminded that people who violated the Flag Law should be penalized – P5,000 to P20,000 fine, or imprisonment of not more than one year. In addition, the agency stressed out that the national anthem should not be used for mere amusement and entertainment purposes, with a few exceptions.
