The first SONA of PBBM will take place on Monday, July 25 at Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

It is expected that more or less 1300 persons will personally attend the first state of the nation address of the newest president of the Republic of the Philippines. However, they need to present a negative result of RT-PCR first.

According to House Secretary-General Mark Llandro Mendoza, at least 70-80% have confirmed their attendance.

Among those who will attend are former presidents Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Joseph “Erap” Estrada.

Aside from the members of the diplomatic corps and justices, Mendoza said that all the governors were also invited.

On the other hand, more than 20,000 troops will be deployed in the nation’s address.

A group from Ilocos is said to be assigned to sing the national anthem.

In the first SONA of Marcos Jr., PBBM will present his plans for the coming years.

It will be directed by Paul Soriano, the husband of Toni Gonzaga, who served as director of campaign ads for his “ninong” Bongbong Marcos.

But days before the first SONA of PBBM, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the communications department of the DOTr, Jaime Bautista is currently in isolation and is “exhibiting mild symptoms of headache and cough.”

“However, Secretary Bautista will continue to perform his duties, and will be in constant communication with his staff,” it added.
