Message of United States Gov’t on PH Pres. Bongbong Marcos
UNITED STATES – The U.S. government spoke on Philippine President Bongbong Marcos who recently tested positive for COVID-19 anew.
The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over thus the Philippine health authorities continue to remind the public to keep on practicing the proper health protocols. Recently, Malacañang confirmed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos tested positive on anti-gen test anew.
During the early months of the pandemic, Marcos Jr. also tested positive for COVID-19. He was treated for several weeks and it was quite a long journey to recovery for the now-President.
Marcos Jr. has just assumed office. It was last June 30 when he had his oath-taking as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines. The First Family has decided to stay in Bahay Pangarap (House of Dreams).
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, press secretary Trixie Cruz Angeles expressed that Pres. Marcos has a “slight fever” but he is okay. He will be under isolation for seven (7) days since the time he tested positive for COVID-19.
The United States government expressed its well-wishes for Pres. Bongbong Marcos who is now isolated due to COVID-19. Based on the report, US Embassy Charge d’Affaires Heather Variava expressed during the celebration of the 246th anniversary of U.S. independence that they are looking forward to working closely with the Philippine President.
“We wish the new President good health and recovery,” the United States official said on PH Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
It is the second time for Marcos Jr. to battle against COVID-19. Amid the isolation, the President has released messages over the death of Japanese ex-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as he expressed sympathy to his family on behalf of the PH government and the Filipino people and his message of oneness and “to fight for what is right” as the Muslim community celebrates the Feast of Sacrifice, Eid’l adha.
